THE CONCEPT

Retro Maze Chomper is an original, neon-infused homage to classic 1980s arcade maze chasers. Built from scratch with smooth 60 FPS HTML5 Canvas graphics, custom Web Audio synth sound, and zero heavy external frameworks.

THE LORE & GAMEPLAY

Take control of the Orb Runner—a high-energy sentient sphere trapped inside a grid-locked neon matrix. Your goal is to devour all glowing Energy Pellets while outsmarting four autonomous Enemy Drones, each driven by distinct tactical tracking algorithms.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

• Dynamic Enemy AI: Aggressive chase, interception prediction, random patrol, and scatter routines.
• Power Mode & Combos: Turn the tables on drones and stack exponential multiplier bonuses (200, 400, 800, 1600).
• Web Audio Synthesizer: Real-time procedural retro sound effects and background synth melodies.
• Accessibility & Mobile: Swipe gestures, touch D-Pad, difficulty tuning, CRT filter toggle, and reduced flashing modes.

Guide the glowing Orb Runner through the maze, devour all Energy Pellets, and evade the lethal Enemy Drones!

CONTROLS

Desktop Keyboard: Use Arrow Keys or WASD to navigate.

Mobile / Touch: Use the on-screen D-Pad or swipe directly anywhere across the screen.

POWER ORBS & DRONES

Eat large flashing corner Power Orbs to trigger Power Mode for 8 seconds. Drones turn vulnerable—capture them for bonus points (200, 400, 800, 1600)!

ENEMY DRONE AI TYPES

• Red Drone: Directly chases your position.
• Blue Drone: Intercepts by predicting where you move.
• Green Drone: Patrols randomly until close by.
• Purple Drone: Alternates between chasing and retreating.
